I saw the legal notice posted in the Glen Rose Reporter newspaper. I notice that,at 6:00 pm, there's going to be a closed door executive session meeting to talk about Rotan's evaluation and contract. If memory serves, that was also done at the last meeting, so maybe this is a ratification process. I would expect that Wayne Rotan, since he is not a member of the school board, would not also be meeting with them in executive session, but who knows?
At 7 pm, the regular school board meeting occurs. Since GRISD has, as of the first of this year on the advice of their attorney, stopped recording their school board meetings, I guess we'll try to be up there with our camera to record it since it's an open meeting. I notice that at the end of the meeting, the board will be meeting in executive session with their attorney, and probably also include Wayne Rotan, the superintendent, to discuss the Joelle Ogletree lawsuit. I suppose that would be to discuss the fact that Ogletree is appealing the summary judgment that the school district requested and Wayne Bridewell granted. I have read before that the last time Bridewell issued a ruling, the first time, the appeals court overthrew his ruling and the case was remanded again to be heard.
Don't forget that the school board meeting has a spot for open comments. If you want to talk about something about any of the agenda items or topics of general concern, that's the time to do it.
