I came across this awhile ago while looking for something else.It's the book "Escape and Suicide of John Wilkes Booth", about 100 years old but now on google, which seeks to say that John St Helen was actually he. Glen Rose, which was then part of Hood County, is mentioned in the book. (Reminds me that I want to go look at Panther Cave sometime soon). Anyway, you can download the PDF and read it.
