Went to the meeting hosted by TCEQ last night at the Citizen's Center. TCEQ explained the process of how they determine okaying or denying the permit from Tommy Davis of Slick Machines, and people attending had a chance, in 2 different sections of the meeting to either ask TCEQ questions or enter questions/comments for the record without response from TCEQ. (Here's a link to a FW Star-Telegram article from before the meeting was held).
Here's audio of the entire TCEQ meeting, in 2 parts PART 1 PART 2 (right click to save to your hard drive and listen there). Why it's interesting to listen to is to see how very narrow the focus of the TCEQ hearing is. Wonder about the rock mining and not the rock crushing machine? That's a different agency. Worried about the endangered birds? Not a TCEQ issue but TPWD. Wonder about the effects of runoff on the water system? TCEQ only involves air quality, not water. (And we've spoken extensively on this site before about how to know the difference between who does what as far as water goes, from a Brazos River Authority meeting .)
I'll be putting up some pics and video-clipping a few of the comments made (not all, by any means, but, again, you can listen to the entire meeting on the audio)-on a second post later today-look for it by the menu "Glen Rose Items" above.
