It lasted about an hour and we recorded the entire event, will have it up soon along with the pictures that were taken of everyone.
From the claims made at the meeting, someone (a company named 'Slick' something) on the West side of the county line wants to tear down a mountain, grind it up into rock (which is not useful except to the gas companies due to the nature of the rock..i.e. chalk mountain) and sell it to natural gas companies to use for the base of their drilling pads. The video explains most of it but the short end of this is that there will end up being a huge pit on the west side of the county where a mountain once stood. Everyone is encouraged to write a letter to the TCEQ about specifics on why this would be a bad idea. Also everyone is encouraged to attend the TCEQ meeting coming up later this month at the Citizens Center and speak your mind about why you think this would be a good or bad idea. There will be a hearing after that in Austin, which you do not have to attend but can if you have spoken at the one later this month, with the TCEQ and the Administrative Judge who gets to rule on the case.
