The Laughs Just Keep On Coming

Whoopsies and Fakery at the RNC and Other Republican Laughs.

Saw this the other day via Millard Fillmore's Bathtub about Scouts Campaigning in Uniform (or is that a faux scout?)

The footage of the funeral used by the RNC last night came from stock footage Getty images, and the people in the scenes were... ACTORS. (The RNC has no comment.)

But CBS News found that the footage of the ‘funeral’ and soldiers is what is called ‘stock’ footage. The soldiers were actors and the funeral scene was from a one-day film shoot, produced in June. No real soldiers were used during production.

The footage, sold by stock-film house Getty Images was produced by a commercial filmmaker in Chicago. Both Getty and the production company, Mr. Big Films, confirmed that the footage was shot on spec and sold to the Republican National Committee.

One of the actors, Perry Denton of Chicago, Ill. also confirmed that he was hired on a day-rate as an actor for the shoot and told CBS News he was surprised to learn the footage was shown at the convention.

I read that McCain has a commercial out making fun of the greecian columns Obama used in the DNC convention. Then I read that the REASON he had a mansion behind him at the RNC wasn't so that people could keep thinking about what a dang elitist he is, with lots and lots of homes, but his people screwed up and put a picture of a school called Walter Reed behind him INSTEAD OF WALTER REED MEMORAIL HOSPITAL. Seems to me that McCain ought to be more worried about what f-ups he has working for HIM than whether Obama had columns. Bwahahahahahah.

P.S. Remember how there was one campaign appearance where McCain was shown against a green screen and somebody said it was like cottage cheese floating in a bowl of lime jello? Heh.

P.P.S. Seems the school doesn't LIKE being used in a political ad, even if it was an accident by idiot Republican campaign stooges.

Here's the statement from Donna Tobin, the principal...

"It has been brought to the school's attention that a picture of the front of our school, Walter Reed Middle School, was used as a backdrop at the Republican National Convention. Permission to use the front of our school for the Republican National Convention was not given by our school nor is the use of our school's picture an endorsement of any political party or view."

Update: One more thing on the stock footage being used by the McCain campaign. Because he couldn't get any REAL black people to pose.

No, they are not faux Scouts -- a troop from Springfield, Ohio.

The campaign should have known better than to put the Scouts where they were in a favored camera angle.
