The people of Iraq have been protesting in mass, burning the US Flag and letting the people in power THERE know that they want a national referendum on whether the United States should, Bush and McCain style, be in Iraq via permanent bases and US troops for years (Yes, like 100 years, as McCain said.) What about us? We don't get to have a national referendum on whether we want to see Bush use BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to try to force Iraqis to sign? Or maybe a weak Congress has already allowed this to happen.
But here's the deal. What does Barack Obama say about this? Will he stand up NOW and say something about that Bush is attempting or, if by some evil wind, the SOFA agremeent becomes a done deal, will he say "Gee, Sorry. I know I said I'd end the war and the occupation, but my hands are tied. Dang Ole Bush!".
I want to hear responses about THIS issue, raised by reporters that are responsible. Yes, I care whether Clinton becomes Vp (Please, please... NO!) but the whole reason I've been voting for Democrats since 2006 is to STOP the Middle East militarism.
