A motorist reported seeing her Monday at a rest stop on U.S. Highway 26 about 35 miles northwest of Lander. The motorist told authorities that Ms. Garland looked like she needed help.

Officials said Ms. Garland, who was in a car belonging to a Meridian man, told them she'd been at the rest stop since Friday and hadn't had anything to eat or drink over the weekend.

They wouldn't speculate on why Ms. Garland ended up in Wyoming. The Waco Tribune-Herald has reported that Ms. Garland is a Wyoming native.
