U.S. Congressman Joe Barton (TX) is Angry at 'Democrats' for NOT Spending More of Our Tax Dollars on the War --- for what?

Congressman Barton seems to live in a different world than the rest of us.

To read his disappointment of the Democrats, click here.

The REAL reason Democrats (or Congress) did NOT agree to finance more taxpayer dollars for the seemingly endless war and occupation in Iraq is because there are no detailed priorities, REAL game-plan or timeline set by the administration to justify those dollars.
What should congress do, spend an infinite amount of our tax dollars without making an intelligent plan on how to spend them?

How foolish and counterproductive would that be?

We've seen from past experience how our administration can spend TRILLIONS of our dollars without a good return on that money.

If they did that in the corporate world, our officials would be fired!

I believe that if the President and Congress set forth a good plan with realistic priorities and a step-by-step process for attaining those objectives, more tax dollars would be approved.

Unfortunately, the Bush administration has NOT changed its mentality or approach, so this time I'm with Congress and/or Democrats for NOT approving those tax dollars!

Haven't people in his district had ENOUGH of Smokey Joe? Wonder who's running against him this time?

Have you and readers noticed that so many of our legislators have been in the house or senate way too long?  As long as they keep on running for office they get in.  It's a little bit discouraging, don't you think?

Power gained is not power easily relinquished.  Term limits is an idea way beyond its time.

The founding fathers did not invision a body of professional legislators but citizens who gave their time and returned to their ordinary lives.

Yes. And having limits would help keep all the influence -peddling from continuing year after year. Oh, it would still be there, but wouldn't be so entrenched.
