The answer is one word:  GREED!

American education has become big business in the U.S. and a small side objective is to educate students and enable them to become successful in the real world.

Thanks again go to Gov. Rick "39-percent" Perry and House Speaker Tom "suck-up" Craddick for their endless push to deregulate education to let good ol' American competition lower the costs of tuition.

Yeah, right!

The University of Texas (UT) raised its tuition 4 times during the past 1.5 years and has plans for tuition increases again soon after.

Texas A&M just raised tuition 6.5 percent. More universities and colleges will follow suit.

Unless the legislature reinstitutes regulations and/or real oversight on higher education, tuition increases will continue EVERY year until only the wealthy elite can afford a college degree.

Most American families no longer can afford the cost of educating their children and still pay their daily living expenses.

There is no end in sight to the ongoing barrage of tuition increases.
