I don't know what's funnier, that McCain can't seem to shut his trap about things he knows nothing about, or that he obviously has never read the Bible, or that Joe Lieberman seems to be having a great time correcting him in public. (oops, one would think that will get him kicked off the VP short list-does McCAIN really want to look like he has to be corrected on his crazy statements IN PUBLIC? heh.)

Okay. Let's just start with this, and since we know that our neck of rural Texas is mostly Christian, everybody knows the story of Esther, right?  How she, a Jew, was brought into the house of the King, but wicked Haman wanted to kill all the Jews, Esther interceded and Purim commemorates when the Jews in Persia were saved from extermination? That in NO WAY equates to Halloween. (It's especially egregious because, um, McCain was in Israel when he said it-bwahahahahahah)

When McCain made a foreign policy gaffe in Jordan on Tuesday, it was Sen. Joe Lieberman who quietly pointed out the mistake, giving McCain an opportunity to correct himself in front of the international press corps. In Israel yesterday, NBC’s Lauren Appelbaum reports, Lieberman once again intervened when McCain made an incorrect reference about the Jewish holiday Purim -- by calling the holiday "their version of Halloween here."

McCain made the incorrect statement during a press conference with Defense Minister Ehud Barak after touring the Israeli city of Sderot to view buildings damaged by Hamas rocket fire.
