Just like the New York subways.
The Associated Press reports the new security push includes officers with automatic weapons and bomb-sniffing dogs patrolling platforms and trains.
AP reports the initiative, to be announced by the railroad on Tuesday, is a significant shift for Amtrak.
You know, I quit flying because I just LOATHE the idea of having to get frisked just to have the privilege of being in a big old Bus In The Sky where you generally don't even get hot meals anymore but sandwich bags. But I still had a soft spot in my heart for Amtrak. But not if it's going to be like the gestapo running around with bomb-sniffing dogs and randomly checking people's luggage. Will there be a point when renting a car becomes just as intrusive? Where you'll have to step into one of those "I See You Nekkid" machines before you can get in a car?
