The Soda Pop Presidential Campaign-Which Pop Do You Prefer Out of your Choices?

I really like Big Red when I drink a coke (as we say in Texas-down here ANY soda pop is a coke).  I have since I've been a small child; others in my family adore Dr Pepper, which, unless it's the Dublin Dr Pepper, I generally can't stand. OR there's Mountain Dew, which I liked as a teenager, but now don't find as good as hub does. At holiday gatherings I used to buy Sprite or Seven-Up but then I'd have a whole bunch of cans left over, since no one really wanted to drink it.  Every once in a while I get a taste for a Coca-Cola (not Pepsi) but not often. Generally, it's when I'm travelling out of the state where (GASP!) there isn't any Big Red so that I am forced to choose a Coke, as second. It isn't that I don't like Coca-Cola, it's that I wouldn't normally choose it from a list of pops to drink.

The Presidential Elections are like that, to me. When the season started (which was WAY too early), there were a lot of choices on who to vote for. Let's say, there were choices of Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Big Red, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Dr Pepper, Grape, Orange, Jolt, and unflavored bottled water, among others. So I chose Big Red. But ast time rolled on, the television and print media started trying to decide for me that Big Red wasn't going to be a choice, and never offered it to drink. Oh, I could go out and find it on my own, but imy choices of the drinks to hear about in corporate media were narrowing, EVEN THOUGH NO PRIMARIES OR CAUCUSES HAD TAKEN PLACE. Then the teevee even decided that people that wanted to watch the Big Red or Grape choices weren't going to be able to see or hear those choices. Not that they, again, weren't still out there if I wanted to go find them. But they weren't going to be on television.

Time has passed. Now, on the Democratic side, I no longer can vote for my heart, Big Red. So I have to go with a second choice, and my choices have been made FOR ME, since Texas hasn't even had a primary yet. And those choices are between Coke and Pepsi; not Coke and Sprite or Coke and Dr Pepper. Well, I'll choose Coke every day of the week over Pepsi, and it's okay, but it isn't truly my drink of choice.

And now I read that that the people who choose one drink over anotther may not even get their choices taken into consideration but that some Super Delegates may decide who gets to win.

Okay. It's all a matter of taste, eh. But let's not pretend this is democracy, okay?
