Texas Politics: Evolutionary or Extinct? 

Or ...Where’s the ‘Intelligent’ in Intelligent Design?

Let’s look for a moment at Texas politics for what it has become. Currently we have a political structure evolved into a system that does NOT work for the people it supposedly was created for.

The two major political parties refuse to work together to resolve crisis issues for the people of Texas.

The governor, generally the leader who ties the system together, refuses to do so. Gov. Perry has many options and resources at his call to resolve party frictions and legislative stalemates.

However, during the past 6 years of his reign, the governor has determined to remain rigid and myopic in his resolve to force the issues of toll roads, redistricting, deregulation of various industries, etc., whether or not they are in the best interests of Texas and Texans.

While on a daily basis each party blames and bashes the other for just about everything imaginable, it is the people of Texas who continue to pay the staggering price for a political system run amok.

It particularly is a sad recognition that both parties have NOT evolved significantly within the political food chain. It is infinitely more disconcerting to realize that elected officials, hired by the people to do the community's work, continue to play out their "Holy Political Crusades" rather than work together to fight the common foes of political, economic and social disaster and corruption.

One only prays that the evolution of time or the theory of intelligent design quickly repairs the damage being caused presently in this turmoil, and that a "legislative cavalry" will arrive relatively soon to reaffirm and revive a political arena that works beneficially for the people of Texas.
