So, the other day the Republicans attemped to bring cloture to a bill that didn't include the provision NOT to give immunity to the telecoms that have been spying on Americans. Today, that vote finally happened, and the Democrats defeated it. Republicans also refused to vote yes for an extension on the August bill that would have given 30 days (or some length of tiem to extend it) so that the Senate, which, uh, is supposed to be a *deliberative* body would get a chance to actually, you know, deliberate on it. No wonder people are leaving the Republican party. Republicans would have had to get 60 votes for it to to pass. Only 48 voted FOR. Oh, and both Clinton and Obama were there for the vote.
