Ugh! Hillary Clinton Says She Doesn't Want a *One Night Stand* with Iowa Voters

I saw the clip of her saying this last night on Hardball.

"I want a long term relationship," she said. "I don't want to just have a one night stand with all of you."

Um. Have you EVER heard a man running for office making a statement like this? I haven't. Does Clinton KNOW what this means or did a man write this for her? Not only because it brings up obvious jokes about Bill Clinton and one-night stands, which you would think she would try to friggin avoid. But because it says something about HER for her to use a sexual phrase like this in connection with politics. It's ONE thing for her to use her sex, as a female in general. I mean, she IS female and if people vote for her because she's female instead of, oh, say, her stances on issues, then they can... and they deserve what they get if by some gawdforsaken chance she gets elected.

But using a sexual phrase like "one night stand" when you're a female is creepy. Usually a man says this to the woman before he has finagled her into bed. "Don't worry, you won't be a one-night stand to me. I'll love you in the morning". Maybe he will, but odds are a guy that does this with someone he hasn't known long is just looking for some sex, not a long term relationship. (Anyone listen to Tom Leykis?)

But let's flip this around to where a WOMAN says this. In that case, it's not the man saying he wants to ***** the partner, issuing reassurances, but the woman in victim mode, pleading with the man that she doesn't want to be HIS one-night stand. It's, frankly, to me, a one-down position, not a power position at all. Unless she's trying to be THE man, in the position that can choose to screw over the voters and asks them allow it on trust.  Because you NEVER say something like that if you aren't trying to hasten a situation, getting the reluctant female into bed, that time would correct.

And it's inappropriate for a woman to use when she's running for office.
