Even IF Bush pulls out the same number of troops as we get closer to election time that brings the number, not LOWER, but back to pre-surge levels, he's still threatening to keep us tied, via military bases, in Iraq through a SOFA agreement for the next 50-75 years. So not only is he dumping his unpopular misbegotten adventure on the next administration because he's a coward, but he's trying to TIE THE HANDS of the next administration to do what he wants now. It's just plain sick. Democrats MUST stop him.

Bush said the U.S. engagement in Iraq will stretch beyond his presidency, requiring military, financial and political support from Washington. He said Iraqi leaders "have asked for an enduring relationship with America.

"And we are ready to begin building that relationship in a way that protects our interests in the region and requires many fewer American troops."
