Interesting article about Fossil Rim's financial management. Around 28,000 vehicles -- the park calculates that each car translates into an average of 3.5 people -- drove through the park in 2003. The number was 38,000 in 2006 and will likely hit 40,000 this year, even with the unusually rainy June and July. Fossil Rim has no more debt, and a few hundred thousand dollars in the bank. "He is very good with the nuts and bolts," said Kelley Snodgrass, the director of animal care and the longest-serving employee at Fossil Rim. "But he also has a conservation background that is compatible with what we do. That's something we want to grow."
The article also says that Christine Jurzykowski, who owns the park land, will be donating it by end of year, with deed restrictions preventing it from being used for development.
