Not just me but also the Waco Tribune called Edwards to task for his paternalistic attitude that telling people what earmarks are being considered would *confuse* them. And when I first wrote about this, I mentioned that it sure is ironic that Edwards has no problem mentioning the money he gets for various earmarks and projects... BEFORE THE BILL IS PASSED BY THE SENATE TOO AND BUSH SIGNS IT. I mean, if his reason *truly* is that he doesn't want to confuse people, then why is he putting the cart before the horse and telling everyone through press releases about money that might just not make it through the congressional mill? Insulting, wouldn't you agree? Here's the example I read of this today in which a PR tougts $600,000 Edwards got for the Brazos Valley Transportation Management Center. At the END of the article it says. The bill must still pass the House and Senate and be signed by the President.
Um. Isn't it, er, CONFUSING to all of us yokels to hear about money when the process ain't actually done?? Or maybe Edwards gives his constituents more credit when it comes to PR he wants to say versus what he doesn't want people to know?
