Farmers Angry at Rick Perry Over His Veto of the Eminent Domain Bill

Said the other day that Tarrant County business people SURE wanted to see Perry veto the eminent domain bill that would have PROTECTED LANDOWNERS AND FARMERS. It's ironic to me that Perry, who was an Ag commissioner in Texas at one point, would be for corporations and businesses over farmers. And I have to wonder, did any of these farmers who are being shafted by Perry now... VOTE FOR HIM in the last election? Ah... regrets.

One Central Texas farmer said Monday he was "dumbfounded" by Gov. Rick Perry's veto of an eminent domain bill designed to protect landowners when the state wants to take their property.

Robert Fleming is not alone in an area worried about the massive Trans-Texas Corridor proposal. The planned route cuts through Fleming's Bell County farms. He's bewildered by Perry's veto.

"We were so close to getting something done," Fleming said. "We've worked hard trying to get private property rights."

Perry vetoed the bill, and 48 others, Friday.

Until we start voting in people who give a DARN about the PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE... this type of roughshod running over Texans is going to continue. Let me suggest that civil disobedience and fighting back is what MUST happen, because the Texas legislature nor the Governor cares.

If the hicks hadn't of voted for the damn man, they wouldn't be complaining!

Geez. Think, then vote.

Goes to show you, con men run for office all the time. (Will take issue with *hicks*-farmers aren't necessarily hicks, and there were a lot of idiots in the cities and 'burbs who voted for 39 percent, too).
