A 27-year-old Mineral Wells man was in critical condition Friday night after an explosion at a Quicksilver Resources natural gas processing plant in southeast Hood County.

The explosion occurred when two employees were trying to light a hot oil heater unit, Hood County Fire Marshal Roger Deeds said.

The injured worker was taken to a Glen Rose hospital, Deeds said. A spokesperson for Fort Worth-based Quicksilver could not be reached for comment.

That's THIS gas processing plant, the one down the road by the canoe place, near the Brazos, off Hwy 67.

Update: Sadly, he died.

Joshua Petrie died at Harris Methodist Hospital early Saturday, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's Web site.
