I had to check the date on this article, it seemed like an April Fool joke. But nope. TSU wanted to have the nation's largest cadaver *farm* in which bodies would be buried so that the students (I guess the students:) could check the rate of decomposition, etc. But those DANG pesky buzzards would get in the way, so they have scrapped the idea. Now, mind you, if those buzzards hadn't been near the San Marcos Airport, that would have been fine. Can you IMAGINE living near a cadavar farm? I'm not even sure they were going to bury the bodies...

Plans for the site included a razor-wire fence around the property, vulture-proof cages to protect exposed bodies and a 70-foot grass buffer around the site to absorb rain runoff.

Residents near the proposed site complained about coyotes and diminished property values, but Texas State officials were unmoved by those concerns.
