It has become commonplace to read on an almost daily basis of Bush meddling, bullying and threatening other countries, either himself or through one of his agents, such as C Rice, into doing what the US wants. Bush apparently sees the US as the sole superpower that can, rather than engage in cooperative practices, negotiations, and diplomacy with the world, sit on top and tell other countries what to do (with the notable exception of democratic countries such as Venezuala, who don't cotton to such imperialistic hubris). The other nations of the world are not silent about the US hypocrisy.

Such views would seem to pit him against the new Pope, who sees himself as the leader of the world.
