The Stephenville Independent School District Board of Trustees is taking a strong stance against the No Child Left Behind federal provision adopted in June of 2006 that requires limited-English proficient students to be assessed on grade level after being in the United States for one year.

The resolution is at this link. Basically, it says that schools should be allowed more flexibility, while still receiving federal funding, in requiring LEP (Limited English Proficient) students to have to be assessed according to NCLB requirements.
