One of the ladies attending the meeting on Waste Injection Wells yesterday was from Kopperl, Texas, north of Morgan, and somewhat near Lake Whitney. She told us that the property owners had gotten a notice of a request to put in a waste injection well on Hwy 174. When looking at the Texas RRC site, under "Drilling Permit Query" with type "Injection Wells", I see the following.

Checking other approvals on RRC, you'll notice many are received and approved on the same day. There are several steps an application goes through before going to RRC. Still trying to figure it all out myself!

Under the restrictions:
This well cannot be used for disposal until approved by Environmental Services section of the Railroad Commission, but they drilled the well immediately on getting a permit number. Wonder how they're so sure it will go through, that they are willing to invest that kind of money? It is being protested at this time.

Right on how sure they are that it will go through, since the RRC is a RUBBER STAMP agency. In my opinion, we have to get our legislators on board and get some laws passed to regulate O&G.
