I really enjoy looking at how people in town light their houses and yards. Out in the county where we are, there aren't a lot of lights up, mostly, I suspect, because you can't see a lot of people's houses anyway from the road. But in town, all of the displays were wonderful and some were simply fantastic. We drove downtown near the schools. One house, for example, had put lights all the way up a huge oak tree-I don't know how they got them up there without shimmying up the tree. Another road we went down had people in the yard putting up a huge santa claus, while caddy corner to that house was another one with a huge santa claus-put us in mind of the movie "Christmas with the Kranks" ala "Free Frosty! Free Frosty!" But my personal favorite was a house that had a huge inflated Grinch, with all the Peanuts gang in front and on one side, a motorized carousel with reindeer. (Not to mention other lights of course on the house).

The courthouse downtown was all light up, with wreaths on the sides.

Really wonderful.
