I had previously read this article from a UK newspaper in which Iraqi officials disputed a US report that 20 Al-Qaida militants had died in an attack. However, police and officials in the town of Ishaqi said the bodies of 17 civilians, including six women and five children, were found in the rubble of two homes. "The Americans have done this before, but they always deny it," Amer Alwan, the mayor of Ishaqi, was quoted as saying by Reuters. "I want the world to know what's happening here." TV news footage showed more than a dozen charred and bloodied bodies laid out in rows, covered in blankets.

IN this second article, the people killed are no longer called Al-Qaida but *insurgents*. An AP photo showed an Iraqi man who had pulled back one of the blankets and uncovered the face of one of the dead, who appeared to be a boy about 10 years old, lifting his head for the camera. This spring, a U.S. military investigation cleared American soldiers of misconduct in a March 15 raid in the village in which Air Force planes destroyed a building believed to be hiding al-Qaida in Iraq insurgents. Villagers claimed the soldiers killed 11 Iraqi civilians before calling for the airstrike.

I'm tired of this. US, get out of Iraq.
