Here's hoping that all readers of Somervell County Salon have a happy holiday over the next couple of weeks. Yesterday was the Winter Solstice Day, shortest day of the year, and of course, the reason for so many of the celebrations going on in various traditions and religions.
I love this time of year, full of great occassions to be with family. I've been making candy the last few days, one more day to make just a little more, to include pecan brittle, toffee, soft caramels, homemade marshmallows, pralines (for my mom) and cherry divinity. Today will be caramel popcorn with pecans and then I'm really done. The holiday season for me is part of an entire week that rolls on through New Years Day, when we eat black eyed peas, greens and cornbread, even though I don't personally believe in "Luck" but tradition.
Posting may be light over the next couple of weeks. Wishes that 2020 will be the best year ever for everyone.
Again Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings!
