Trump's decision to separate children from parents is terrible policy. And it continues. Still unclear to me, for the children that have already been shipped to other states, how they are going to reunite children with their parents. It doesn't even matter if the children, after being separated, might be treated well, it is still DESTROYING FAMILIES.
I've seen some arguments that amount to "well, if they don't want to get their children separated from them, they shouldn't come here". But people come here to seek asylum, which is NOT illegal, and needs to be determined by a judge, and the first time is a misdemeanor. Children should not be separated from their parents in what is a valid, legal action to take, and particularly when the government is not doing procedures to ensure that children CAN be united with their parents. It seems like that's not happening.

Even after President Donald Trump signed an executive order halting family separations at the border, immigration attorneys and advocates say there’s no clear path in sight to reunify already-separated families.
If parents are able to reunite with their children — and that’s a big if, McAllen attorney Carlos M. Garcia said — it could be months before that happens.
The order doesn’t stop the zero-tolerance policy that calls for all adults caught crossing the border illegally to be prosecuted for illegal entry, but it would keep families together in custody. It also doesn’t lay out a process for reuniting parents with children who’ve already been separated.
Reuters- despite Trump order, border child separatoins could go on.
The much-vilified U.S. policy of separating children from parents who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico border could continue under certain circumstances because of ambiguous language in President Donald Trump’s order meant to end the practice, legal experts said.
