As readers of Somervell County Salon know, I, as an interested citizen, like to either video record meetings or watch/listen to government public meetings. I figure I'm just like any other person that lives here in Glen Rose, I may not be able to make it to a meeting, but I dang well would like to know what happened. In the case of Somervell County Hospital District, the open meetings are video recorded and put on Youtube. (As I recall, it was former board member Paul Harper who pushed to have the meetings video recorded for the benefit of the public) The PROBLEM is that they are not put up on Youtube until, usually, someone complains (and I believe that person has been me) because it's so many days after a meeting. That goes for the most recently SCHD meeting from April 27, 2017, but what's even more ridiculous is that, with Ron Hankins as board president, he hypocritically is not ensuring that video is timely posted, EVEN THOUGH HE'S WHINED REPEATEDLY about it in the past.
Here is an example of a request I did on Monday, February 27, 2017 to Ray Reynolds, CEO of Glen Rose Medical Center regarding the lack of posted video.

When, actually did the meetings get posted on Youtube? On March 8, AFTER I asked, not once, but TWICE for them to be posted. And that is not the only time I have asked for the videos to be timely posted on Youtube. It's unfortunate I feel that I have to NAG.
Which brings me to my point. Ron Hankins, who was a Somervell County Hospital District board member in 2014 and 2015, and is now the board president, apparently has two different standards about whether he cares if video is timely posted or not. In the past, he has actually whined about the fact that the video was not posted by the very next day or within a reasonable time after a given meeting. Why doesn't he care now? Could it be that he just wanted to whine, without really caring whether the rest of us in Somervell County get to know what goes on in the meeting? I asked a former board member, you might guess who, if there were any records regarding timely posting of videos and got these emails. Judge for yourself.

Why, yes, I totally agree.The video from that meeting was posted, according to Youtube, on May 14, 2015. My question is, If Ron Hankins was so SERIOUSLY DISTURBED about the meeting being posted within "a day or two after the meetings" and said "People should not have to continually ask about this", then WHY ISN'T HE NOW MAKING SURE THAT RAY REYNOLDS GETS THAT VIDEO POSTED WITHIN A DAY OR TWO AFTER THE MEETINGS????

That brings me to today. There was a meeting TWO NIGHTS AGO, on April 27, 2017 at 7:00 pm. Ron Hankins, again, is the board president, who sure *whined* in the past about not seeing the video posted promptly on behalf of other citizens who, like me, like to watch the video and not 2-3 weeks after a meeting occurs. Of course, I could go to the meetings and bring my own camera to record, as I sometimes do, but that should not be a substitute for what Somervell County Hospital District board does as part of a timely and regularly procedure ANYWAY. Could SCHD have posted the video on Friday? Sure, but they DID NOT. I'd like to know but I also don't like to have to pester Ray Reynolds repeatedly. And it appears to me that Mr Hankins aka "CapnRon" has felt very strongly about quickly getting the video up in the past, WHY NOT NOW??????
