ORDINANCE NO. 17.03.13
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLEN ROSE AMENDING CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GLEN ROSE, TITLE IX: GENERAL REGULATIONS, CHAPTER 90: ANIMAL CONTROL SECTION 90.11 FEE SCHEDULE AND SECTION 90.13(E) ADOPTION; AND, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Glen Rose, Texas desires to provide a single and convenient location for a list of all fees charged; and,
WHEREAS, such list is needed in order to repeal and replace any and/all existing fees previously charged by City of Glen Rose Animal Control, in conflict with the fee schedule listed on “Exhibit A” attached and incorporated as part of this ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLEN ROSE, TEXAS:
Section 1: Finding of Fact. The above and foregoing recitals are hereby found to be 1 and correct and are incorporated herein as findings of fact.
Section 2: The City Council hereby repeals and replaces all fees levied by the City of Glen Rose Animal Control in conflict with the fee schedule attached and herein as “Exhibit A”.
Effective Date: This article shall take effect immediately from and after its adoption by the City Council.

“EXHIBIT A”
Title IX: GENERAL REGULATIONS
Chapter 90: ANIMAL CONTROL
§ 90.11 FEE SCHEDULE
- Impoundment Fees.

(1) If proof or surgical sterilization is provided within 15 days from the date an animal is impounded, the difference in impoundment and other fees between sterilization and unsterilization will be refunded.
(2) Dogs and cats under the age of 1 year shall be charged the sterilized animal fee. Animals may be exempt from sterilization upon written recommendation from a licensed veterinarian that such alternatives would be harmful or dangerous to the animal. Owners of these animals are to be subject to the lower impoundment fee.
(B) Boarding Fees. A daily boarding fee of $10 shall be charged for every day or fraction thereof that an animal is at the animal shelter.
(C) Quarantine Fee. The owner of any cat or dog held in quarantine for observation purposes shall be charged $15 every day or fraction of a day an animal is at the animal shelter, up to $150. This is in addition to any impoundment fee.
(D) Euthanasia Fee. A fee of $25 will be charged for euthanasia of any small animal, and $50 will be charged for euthanasia of any large animal weighing 50 lbs. or more.
(E) Animal Control Fees for Surrendered Animals from County Residents. A fee of $25.00 will be charged per adult animal; $40.00 will be charged for a liter of 3 or more; and $15.00 will be charged for any animal under 6 months.
§ 90.13 ADOPTION
(E)All persons who adopt an animal from the Animal Control facility will prepay $75.00 for vouchers for spay/neuter and rabies. Animal Control will retain $10 of adoption fee as a handling fee.
