The Texas Academic Performance Report formerly known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System provides information on the performance of students attending public schools in Texas. The report provides detailed information on student academic achievements, college readiness, student demographics, district programs, and district staffing data. Out of all the information out of the TAPR, I'm going to highlight a few things. Our report is online... there's also a glossary available. Student performance is measured by the results of the administration of the State of Texas assessment of academic readiness which is our STARR and EOC testing. Glen Rose ISD, last year, has met the highest standard at all four campuses in an all 4 index rating. Glen Rose intermediate scored above the state average in reading and math assessment at all grade levels 3-5 and level 2 satisfactory standard. Glen Rose Junior High scored above the state average in all subjects except we did fall slightly below the state average in 6th grade math. That is being addressed. Glen Rose High School also exceeded the state averages in all their testing areas. .. Under the state accountability system, campuses can receive distinction; distinctions were received at junior high and high school campuses Junior high-science, social studies and the top 25 percent performance closing gap. High school - mathmatics, social studies and post secondary readiness.Students Success initiative that happens in grades 3 and 5 and grade 8. Glen Rose Intermediate was above the state average for both math and reading students meeting level 2 standards on the first administration of those exams. Grade 3, Grade 5, Grade 8 they do have opportunity to retake that assessment up to 3 times total. Glen Rose Junior High was above the state average for both math and reading, meeting the level 2 standard on the first administration. As a district, we were above the state standard for percentage of students in all subjects at the advanced standard which would be considered level 3 achievement on the state test. Post secondary readiness -the number of Glen Rose ISD students graduation on their recommended or distingushed plan was increased from 2014, 2015 and .is above the state average, last year we had 100 percent graduation rate. Under post secondary readiness, the number of students taking the ACT/SAT last year we had 80 percent of the students at the high school participating in those. .. on the SAT and ACT scores we were above the average. That's basically the TAPR in a snapshot.
