As a side note, spoke to Wes Rollen, tax appraiser, about whether/if there are tax liens against Luminant. According to tax code, when property tax bills go out each year on January 1, by default everyone has a lien against their property which is released at the point the property owner pays taxes. EFH is pursuing dual paths to exit bankruptcy. The competitive side, which includes power generator Luminant and electricity retailer TXU Energy, are aiming to get out of court in several months. That process, which envisions creditors taking over the assets, is scheduled to start in mid-August.
EFH wants Oncor on its own path. Then only Oncor would be affected if it took longer to choose a winner and get through the PUC. EFH wanted to present a plan for Oncor by July 8. In court filings, it asked for a time extension and said it was having discussions with multiple interested parties.
