Gloria Steinem Unmasked As being Sexist -Not Surprised She STILL Supports Hillary Clinton (2016)

Wrote about how she utterly lost credibility back in 2008 when Steinem supported Clinton then too. From Democracy Now at the time

So what is Steinem up to now? Still supporting Hillary Clinton except that the decided to trash young women who support Bernie Sanders as doing it *for the boys*. What a minimizing, dismissive, and SEXIST attitude! Long ago I used to admire Steinem,no more. Here's what she said on Bill Maher's show

What a firestorm THAT set off. I don't even agree with her about women losing power as they get older. Maybe that's 1 for HER and she's generalizing to everybody. Let's just suppose that Hillary Clinton, whom a whole lot of women, Democratic party women, DO NOT TRUST, was trying to use Gloria Steinem to shore up her base, at the same time attempting to pander to younger women. Ooops.
Steinem, who is 81, began by saying that most women become more active in politics as they grow older, because women lose power as they age. Young women, she said, ask, “Where are the boys?” as in, “Who are the boys voting for?” The Internet backlash was swift and ferocious, especially from women who support Bernie Sanders.

“It’s such a ridiculous thing to say. A feminist, basically saying that young women are incapable of having thoughts and opinions of their own. Unreal,” wrote a commenter on Reddit, where Steinem’s quotes were thoroughly debated. The group “People for Bernie” launched an online petition demanding Steinem take back her statement.

“As students of your own powerful model of feminist activism in the media, we demand that you admit your mistake and apologize,” they wrote.

Today, I see that Steinem says she "misspoke" on her Facebook page. "Misspoke" is not an apology. Nobody *misinterpreted* what she said. She was just caught as a hypocrite.

And, really? Rather than take responsibility for what she said, she lays it on people watching and reading it as them *misinterpreting*. Way to insult people.
Bah, done with Steinem.
