Two nights ago I saw in the Burleson newspaper that, from a press release from US Rep Roger Williams, unaccompanied children from Central America are coming to Camp Arrowhead. His press release said "Cleburne" (which is in Johnson County) but the facility is actually physically located in Somervell County near Glen Rose. Roger Williams press release is entirely political.
Fort Worth Star-Telegram- says
Johnson County Sheriff Bob Alford said he was notified Friday by the U.S. Health and Human Services that the children would be coming to Camp Arrowhead between Cleburne and Glen Rose. HHS notified the wrong people — Camp Arrowhead’s mailing address is in Cleburne, but the camp is actually in Somervell County.
Somervell sheriff Greg Doyle and Judge Danny Chambers could not be reached for comment Sunday.
Here's a report from WFAA TV
A third North Texas facility will be opened to immigrant children by the end of the month, according to the United States Health and Human Services Department.
A USHHS spokesperson told News 8 that a facility in Somervell County, southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, will host undocumented immigrants for 21 days.
The facility will have full security and the children will be medically screened prior to their arrival. USHSS officials did not reveal the address of the facility or provide an exact date of the children's arrival.
Hosting the children at the Somervell County facility will be federally funded, the USHHS said, and will have no impact on local taxpayers.
The Glen Rose Reporter also wrote about it. Great article and the editor was able to reach Somervell County Judge Danny Chambers to get his reaction.
