according to board member John Parker.
I saw that the meeting that has been cancelled twice is on again for Tuesday night October 13, at 7:00 at the hospital board room. Here's the agenda As you can see, there are two items regarding spending money in Hood County's hospital district at Pecan Family Medical Center, which is in a private gated community that the public cannot freely enter. I was wondering if by some chance Pecan Plantation Properties or John Anthony was kindly offering to pay all the costs of the remodel and pick up the Gaffan architectural services, so I called up one of the Somervell County Hospital District board member, who is also on the budget and finance committee to ask. Nope. We are paying. Mr Parker was uncertain at this point exactly which part of the budget this was coming from, but said it's definitely us.
Let me put a fine point on this. Somervell County residents are spending money IN Hood County that is allocated in Somervell County's budget and is paid for by OUR taxes. Adding that, although the agenda item above is not about this, we are also paying the monthly lease. (Plus, I'm sure everyone knows by now that Ray Reynolds wants to open two more clinics in Hood County).
Here is video from a recorded audio I did today in attempting to go to the failed board meeting that was to be held with this agenda at 1:00 this afternoon, but located at the Pecan Family Medical Center. Took me about 25 minutes to get there, and I believe, since this was a Texas Open Meeting that I should have been able to enter without being required to have permission, or give my name or identification. The guard had not heard that there was to be a meeting at all, and then told me, after calling the clinic, that it had been cancelled.
Here's from where I tried to go there in 2014 and couldn't. Why? Because I don't live there even though my taxpayer money is going to support the clinic.
