Interesting article from the DMN that says Donald Trump plays into nation's victimization complex. I would argue it's not the nation that likes to feel that way, but the Republican party members.
Trump has tapped into a growing victimization complex that begins with the theme that the United States can’t do anything right. The United States has gotten a lot wrong from time to time, but I think we deserve more credit than that. But to Trump, and to anyone who feels that life hasn’t gone their way, this is a bogeyman. Well, actually several.
China is winning. Japan is beating us. Mexico is running rings around this country. Iran is fooling us. The rich have all the money. America was great, it isn’t anymore and only I, Donald Trump, can save us.
Seems to me that part of an *I'm a victim* complex means you feel powerless and that someone else has to do something FOR you. That speaks more, for the larger part, to laziness or lack of effort than it does,to being an actual victim. Wrote about this before.
