from Somervell County Hospita District meeting 6/23/2015

Rough Transcript, watch video for exact wording. Ray Reynolds speaking.

I think in the next 10 years all small hospitals are going to have to be facing what they're going to look like 10 years from now in terms of some sort of affiliation with a much larger organization. Because with what's going on in the hospital world, it's going to be more and more difficult even for tax-supported hospitals to be able to operate as a standalone entity. ... Sulphur Springs hospital, they went through this whole process and they made a decision that they're going to have to choose a strategic partner to do that. .. You want to be where you can make your own choices as to who your strategic partner is... I don't see anything next year for that. .... challenge is to ... create enough of a surplus so that we have a bit of independence.

So, sheesh. What about finding out NOW about partnering with somebody else or a lease for a private hospital (which, remember, is that Glen Rose Medical Center was doing with Gary Marks before the whole push to make the taxpayer be on the hook) before GRMC with Chip Harrison at the free-spending helm spends a whole lot more money?
