My neighbor friend came over this afternoon and helped me (more like I helped her as she is the wiz!) to get the tarp up over the wire shed I built previously. What I had found with the high winds we get around here is that even the thick plastic sheeting didn't stay on the wire, EVEN WITH GORILLA tape! So I found this place that sells used billboards, looked at the sizes and ordered one. Because it's a billboard, it has some thick plastic on one side, webbing on the other and on all sides there was a pocket. I put some thick pvc pipe through the pockets on both sides, which we wired to the fence. Because the bilboard is mostly white, it ought to be cool in the summer for when the *boys* go in to eat or get out of the sun. Here's another pic of it, backs up to teh chicken house and the opening faces south Next week I'm going to get some vegetable plants to start at least a small garden-with wire around it to prevent the chickens, geese and ducks for having at it. Looks like it's going to thunderstorm tonight so that will be a good test of how it holds up with high winds.

We just have a normal heavy duty tarp for the covering. The winds don't get too extreme but it is good to have something like this to cover them in the heavy rains and snow. We need to get a stable for our animals so they can be more comfortable in the winter. https://www.nanstarps.com.au/Poly-Tarps

@Zach- Pretty great to hear from you in Australia. The above is north central Texas, where today it's expected to get up over 100 degrees and I live in a wind plain. We also have a large barn on a different part of the property that the animals can get into, so this is strictly for feeding convenience at night. The poultry area is about 50 feet from the house, as is this covered shed, so it's especially great not to have far to go, AND keeps the donkeys and horse cooler while they're waiting for their treats.
