Couple of things. I have changed the comment system to use Disqus. I have, over the last year, tried out both Disqus and Livefyre, both of which had pros and cons and ended up doing neither at the time. Ready for that change now. Going to keep the old comments up for archive purposes and at some point might roll them into Disqus, but for now, you can still read them on the comment page, but new comments will be made using Disqus. Disqus, for me and you too, has some advantages. For one, you can use your Facebook, Google, or Twitter account to login OR if you don't have the 3 of these, you can create an account on Disqus. Doing entirely away with the anonymous commenting using my old system, which used a Recaptcha and sent all messages to a pending state to be okayed. The same will be 1 with Disqus the first time someone posts, ie, the comment will be moderated, but after that, assuming it's not spam or something truly awful, the person will be whitelisted for future comments.
I also, on the front page, added some Disqus code to show recent comments, most discussed, and top commenters. Obviously this won't apply to blog posts made before this, but ought to be quite interesting in the future.

You may have also noticed that I moved the avatar picture on the front page of the person doing the blog post to below the title and comment and made it larger. This past year I've been personally surprised that a few misinformed people in this community have thought that posts I write (FEMALE, OWNER OF THIS BLOG) as "salon" were actually written by my husband, who posts as "pharper". A more ridiculous, insulting attitude in the Year 2015 could not be had, I was quite angry about it at first, but I'm at the point where I can only laugh at the people who are this wrong and assume silly things without bothering to check. I have posted, with my own photo with a dino with it for a number of years, and changed my photo recently that goes along with the posts. Changing photo avatars on social media is something anyone halfway computer literate should understand, ie, Facebook users do it ALL the time!. For awhile, I was quite perturbed at what I view as a horribly retrograde, sexist attitude on the part of a few men, but finally decided I Can't Fix Stupid.I see no reason to have to put on anything I do "Hey, A WOMAN IS WRITING THIS" (although I did at the height of being so angry about the Stupid) but hope that the photo, the fact that a lot of people KNOW me and KNOW I write this under the name "salon", that Somervell County Salon is MY blog that I own and manage, will help out who need extra assistance.
I'm still working on some RSS fixes I want to add, which is essentially to go out, get some RSS feeds from sites I enjoy, stuff the RSS feed into a database table, and then select it out to display on the page. That should give some good traction to, particularly, other blogs I really enjoy that are liberal in nature to both see them easily myself and share them with others who come to the site. I think once I get that done, I'll be through with changes to the site for awhile.
Also added a blog roll on the front page of blogs I enjoy reading.
