I'm pretty disgusted overall today with a number of things. Occasionally it's hard to look at the world, especially the world of politics, and understand what motivates people to excuse those who murder, who break the law or lie. Going to take a break for a week or so and work on my other project. Later- Had a pretty great day, went to see a few of my friends to talk over fun topics as well as insane travesties of life and feel refreshed. It's GREAT to have good friends.
Stats: FYI. There have been 30 different top level posters on this site over the years, and 1134 different commenters. Of course that means that of those numbers above some have posted more than once (or LOTS of times). The distinction between the first number and the second is that the top level posts show on the front page, and are the main posts that people respond to.
Recap on stuff I fixed on the site. Ratings for both blog and comments. You MUST be logged in to do either. Registration has been overhauled, as has the comment posting feature (captcha now incorporated into the form). I have one last thing I want to do which is to put in an RSS feed with the top 1 post from ones that I'd ike to feature. There used to be a lovely RSS feed from Lefty Blogs, but it sputtered its last gasp a few months ago. I have some code I wrote some years back that does much the same thing, have to drag it out, look at it and retool it. When I do, I'll put it on the individual post pages.
At the beginning of the year, I think I am going to record Commissioners Court meetings and City meetings. As always, I have always done this as a citizen and not at the behest of anyone, with my own camera. Was considering today that almost ANY video that has been done and posted from government meetings over the years has been done by me, or occasionally my husband. In the interim few years I have continued occasionally to get audio from meetings to hear what is going on, but video beats audio, as audio beats simply printed minutes.
I'm going to redo my donkey structure. When we had that huge wind last week, it seemed like it was filling with air and would sail off into the sky like the Up House. I weighed it down with some concrete blocks; one of my friends was over today and she suggested that I change the 14 foot cattle panels and tie them on the metal cattle pen lower down so that the roof is lower-that definitely would be less wind to be trapped inside. When I get it successfully done over, I'll probably get a billboard tarp to go over the whole thing. Definitely lowering the roof will make it cozier.
