Birdman with Michael Keaton. Keaton WAS Batman. And this review of the movie Birdman sounds like it will be outstanding. 

Fury out with Brad Pitt, who is, in my opinion, way too old for the role he plays. Doesn't matter, really, because I'm not going to go see it, but guys who like to play Call of Duty probably will. I read there's a rape scene in it that minimizes how bad rape is. Ugh. From Forbes

The second act is partially spent on what amounts to a cheerful home invasion. The film stops in its tracks to focus on Pitt and Lerman inviting themselves into the home of a young woman and her younger niece. The sequence is disturbing, and I can only hope it’s supposed to be disturbing, as these two young women are politely ordered, at implied gunpoint, to make them meals and otherwise wait on occupying American soldiers.

After the tanks and other Allied forces enter a German village, the commander and Norman enter an apartment where movement has been spotted. There they find a terrified German woman (Anamaria Marinca) and a younger woman, Emma (Alicia von Rittberg).

“Fury” would have us believe that when Norman has (strongly implied but not shown) sex with Emma not much later in the sequence, the act is consensual. Even though Norman brought his gun with him into the bedroom.

To recap: Soldiers hostile to Germans enter a German home unbidden, and one has sex with a woman who has been hiding in her home from hostile Allied forces. “Fury” frames this act not as a rape, but as a respite from war, by having Pitt’s character tell the older woman not to intervene, because these kids are “young” and “alive.”

Movie ruiner. And like other wrongheaded sequences of its type, in movies before it, not self-contained. The apartment sequence’s offensiveness explodes into scenes surrounding it. The collateral damage is the audience’s suspension of disbelief.

Friend of mine went to see The Judge with Robert Downey Jr, said it was pretty good. I respect her opinion, so will probably see it.

Saw the trailer last night for John Wick. A definite watch! 

Saw my brother down in Austin over last weekend, he's also a huge movie buff and he recommended some movies. Both of us are Kurosawa fans. Hub and I watched "For a Few Dollars More"  and "The Good the Bad and the Ugly" a couple of months ago. I want to rewatch "The Magnificent Seven" (not Kurosawa but derivative) and Ran.
