Went to the 4b board meeting (GREDC) this last Monday night 10/6/2014. Here's the agenda for the meeting
Finances -Bank Balance
Status of Signs on the highway. Apparently there were already signed waivers done with a previous 4b council but they were missing (Bob Stricklin). Jessie came in about 5 minutes before meeting ended, so this clip is actually two with a transition.
The new Italian restaurant on the square asks for 4b money. The 4b board approved to go to the next step of holding a public hearing.
Can you use 4b money to pay rent for an existing business? 4b attorney says no, only for new businesses. I'd like to see a copy of the policy that states this. Is this a recent policy? I believe there were times before that 4b gave money that was used for rent to other entities in the past, including long-existing businesses. Update: Did an open records request, but no records exist for that, it was from a conversation. So I wonder, is this a change in 4b law? When, for example, Darrell Best voted to give money from 4b to the Glen Rose Chamber of Commerce, which he was also head of, and was circling the drain at that time, was that rule in place?
