Thursday afternoon, Washington made his first public appearance since his resignation. In a brief prepared statement that was long on emotions and short on details, Washington, with his wife standing stage left, said he had made a mistake, been unfaithful to his wife, and let down those closest to him.

Here's what I don't get. I'm not quite sure why Ron Washington went public with this, but WHAT IS UP with his wife standing on the side? Was she there to waggle her finger at him? Did she tell him, you either go public about this or we're through? At least it wasn't as bad as some of those public showings where the wife is standing WITH her husband.
