I was the person that drove the petition for a state inspector to come and watch the Somervell County Hospital District election back in May. They did come and they wrote up a report but for some reason Ray Reynolds has not provided the report to the Board of Directors. I requested this report from the State of Texas Elections Division and received it today, here it is.
I wanted to go ahead and quote from the Comment Section because I think its important to note that they did not have to write these comments but they chose to do so.
Judge (Barbara Lancaster) and her workers, were exceptional in their preparation and execution of the election. Very strict implementation of all Election laws and procedures. Small confusion on the ballot count, but that was resolved. County off by 1 due to starting count from 1st ballot used, not last ballot of the early election. (e.g. - ballots 612 thru 1120 is 509) but subtraction shows 508. SoS should clarify in directions. Forgot to stamps a very few (~10) ballots, but in counting found and Judge stamped. Witness by workers and me. No signs of coercion of intimidation in or outside polling location. No electioneering whatsoever on or around the premises.
Congratulations to Barbara Lancaster and the election workers for a job well done!
