Just so everyone is clear

2 year terms
John Parker
Karen Burroughs
Chip Harrison
Paul Harper
Eugene Brode

1 year terms
Ron Hankins
Brett Nabors

Some of you may be saying hey I thought the top 4 got two year terms and the other 3 got one year terms. That would be correct except 4-5 tied and since the law is very specific about the initial board election (as detailed below in BOLD) both 4 and 5 get the two year term since you would not have a majority of directors with two year terms if you did not so they both have to have two year terms to be in compliance with the law. The law doesn't say there will be 4 and 3, it talks majority.

Texas Health and Safety Code
Sec. 286.042.  DIRECTOR'S ELECTION.  (a)  The initial directors shall be elected at an election to be held on the first Saturday in May following the creation of the district.

(b)  If the directors are elected at large:

(1)  the appropriate number of candidates receiving the highest number of votes at the initial election of directors are directors for the district;

(2)  the number of directors equal to a majority of the directors who receive the highest number of votes at the initial election serve for a term of two years;  and

(3)  the remaining directors serve for a term of one year.
