It's coming close to that time in Somervell County to vote against a hospital district AGAIN! Mike Ford and the county commissioners are going through the process to try and get a vote on creating a NEW TAX called the 'Hospital District' instead of keeping it as the 'Hospital Authority'. The difference here is while it is the 'authority' it has to use Somervell County tax funds, at the approval of the commissioners, to pay for it. If they created a 'district' it would be its own taxing entity like the County, like the water district, and like GRISD. I don't like the current 'authority' and I sure won't like a new tax on my property!
