I saw the cover of the paper the last two weeks in the stand, although I must confess I did not buy and read them, with local small businesses on the square complaining about their taxes going up. The County wants to keep funding the Glen Rose Medical Center at the tune of over $1,000,000 a year last I checked, in fact these costs were INCREASED the past year at the helm of Mike Ford (and why is Gary Marks still being paid as a consultant?) with the rest of the commissioners on board voting for the increase in expenses while trying to cut things like the Heritage Center and cut spending on Fire Department funding (I would do the opposite myself). Glen Rose ISD built a new stadium with a bunch of TV's where there is going to be a regular maintenance costs, no matter how much Gary Wayne Rotan (Glen Rose ISD Superintendent) said it would not be any costs due to the way the school was sending money out of Somervell County to the State of Texas, there ARE costs with keeping those lights on every single night, cleaning, maintenance, etc. And the City of Glen Rose improved the area by doing the riverwalk and bought the big money pit called Oakdale Park with NO plans on what to do with it when it was bought.
