I must have missed your comment back on this @lee. You said "I believe every state has the right to do what they want with the flag". If a state has so little respect for the United States, then perhaps that state should find out the legal way to secede from this country, if possible, so that they can fly the flag that best shows the contempt they have for the union. Flying the confederate flag is not the same thing, for example, as flying a state flag. Whether racist or not, the confederate flag is a symbol of a rebellion against the US. I do agree with you that tha confederate flag should be part of civil war museums, it is a part of history.
