Reports of a 500+ acre wildfire now sparked near Granbury. David Reimer is about to be en route and he will report a sizeup.
that is supposed to be in southwestern Hood County.

has broken out in SW Hood ,reported to be over 500 acres. We're enroute and will have LIVE in 45 minutes.
Anybody have any additional information and/or confirmation. It's dark now so impossible to see smoke in the distance but the wildfire is supposed to be pretty extensive.
P.S. If it's on the southwest side how close is it to Comanche Peak nuclear power plant?

The fire is contained at the moment. Forestry service is on scene with dozers and engines.
Incidentally, for reference, if you are on twitter, you can add SomervellEMC to follow and will get all kinds of good information from Dwayne, including storm, fire, any type of potential emergency.

Wildfire burns over 500 acres

A wildfire near the Hood-Somervell county line Thursday evening has burned over 500 acres with firefighters able to save about six homes, Hood County Fire Marshal Brian Fine said. Firefighters were about to get control of the fire, Fine said about 9:50 Thursday night. The fire, which may have started from lightning, Fine said, began in Somervell County and moved into Hood County near Paluxy.
UPDATE #3- Still burning today. Just heard the fire scanner, fire near some structures.
Update #4- 10:04 am- still hotspots around the edges, can't get them without a dozer.
Update #5- 10:58 am near 3 monkeys ranch on 1008, called for more brush tranks and tankers.
