I'm sure all Texas readers in particular have read about what US House Rep E B Johnson did by giving scholarships to her kin, while at the same time dissing her constituency as perhaps not being as deserving as her relatives. What she did was very obviously wrong. You can't be an elected official and use the office to benefit you and your family. Not only is that favortism, but it's breaking some rules that at least nominally are made to prevent that.
